Hancock VINELink Inmate Coverage
Kentucky calls its statewide service VINE, short for Victim Information and Notification Everyday. The VINE page from the Kentucky Department of Corrections describes a free automated system that gathers custody information from jail booking systems, prisons, and mental-health facilities. VINELink is the web front end. Hancock adds a twist. The Hancock Jailer page says the county runs no jail and transports prisoners to Breckinridge County. No state source guarantees a connector or a delay. A Hancock arrest may therefore surface under the receiving facility's name. Search accordingly.
Search Hancock Custody on VINELink
Start with the legal name. An official ID number works even better when you have one. A partial name helps when spelling is uncertain, but it can pull several people, so compare age, birth details, facility, and status before trusting the first result.
- Open the VINELink state-selection page and select Kentucky.
- Choose Find an Offender, or open the Kentucky person search.
- Enter a partial or full name, or use an offender ID when one is known.
- Review all matches. A person may have both a local-jail and Kentucky DOC record.
- Open the matching result and note its reported facility, custody status, and update context.
- Select Notify Me on every relevant record if alerts are needed.

Hancock VINELink Search Results
Kentucky's search is built for a named person. It is not a browseable gallery. What shows up depends on the sending source, and a field can be missing, delayed, or worded differently between a county jail record and a state correctional record.
| Result field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name and identifier | Use together to distinguish people with similar names |
| Custody status | The status last reported to VINE, not an independent live check |
| Facility | The reporting or holding location associated with the record |
| Agency or record type | Helps separate local-jail and state-prison records |
| Notification option | Opens registration for eligible custody changes |
| Update context | Shows why direct verification may still be required |
The Kentucky person-search source shows the correct official search context.
This tool covers one person's custody information. It is not a Hancock County mugshot page or a daily arrest list.
Register Hancock Custody Alerts
Registration starts from a matching result through the Notify Me button. Phone, text, email, app, and TTY all work. Phone registration uses a four-digit PIN so the automated service can confirm receipt.
- Open the correct custody record and select Notify Me.
- Choose one or more delivery methods offered for that record.
- Enter the phone number or address carefully and complete any confirmation prompt.
- Create and remember the four-digit PIN for automated calls.
- Register a second matching record if VINELink shows both a local and DOC entry.
- Use Edit Your Registration later to update contact details or preferences.
The official registration search is visible in the source capture below.
The person searched is never told who registered.
Kentucky VINE Notification Methods
The Kentucky Enhanced VINE brochure lists every channel: web, phone, text, email, app, and TTY. The Kentucky Attorney General's VINE resource posts the automated line as 1-800-511-1670. State victim services also list 502-564-5061, 877-687-6818, TTY 1-866-847-1298, and VSB.help@ky.gov. If an automated call goes unanswered, the system keeps calling over 24 hours until the PIN is entered. That PIN confirms the right person received the message. Never share it or post it publicly. Treat any alert as a prompt, not proof. Release can end one custody episode. A transfer may hand the person to another agency. Read the event label and call the facility when the difference matters.
Hancock Alert Connector Caveat
VINE is statewide, yet no source confirms which connector carries a Hancock or Breckinridge record or how fast it moves. Hancock contracts its incarceration out. Results may point to Breckinridge County Detention Center. So search by name, not by county label. Two records can exist when a local jail entry and a DOC entry describe different stages. The Kentucky VINE FAQ advises registering both. If neither appears, call the Hancock Jailer at 270-927-8770 or the official Breckinridge line at 270-756-6244.
- Just booked
- A fresh intake that may not have reached VINE.
- In custody
- A status reported by the connected facility.
- Released
- The end of that reported custody episode, not necessarily the court case.
- Transferred
- Movement to another facility or authority.
Verify Hancock Release Alerts
Kentucky reported vendor-caused false release alerts in February 2026. The state later said service was restored. Registered users were notified, and the episode proves an automated alert can sometimes be wrong without making VINE useless.
Use official directory numbers only. Never call a number embedded in an unsolicited message. The Breckinridge directory lists the detention center at 500 Glen Nash Lane, Hardinsburg, Kentucky 40143, at 270-756-6244. Hancock's non-emergency dispatch line is 270-927-1311. For an immediate threat, call 911.
VINELink Does Not Cover Everything
VINE handles reported local jail and state custody, release, and transfer events well. It is not guaranteed to catch a fresh arrest before intake. It offers no court disposition and no booking-photo gallery. For someone sentenced into state custody, the Kentucky Offender Online Lookup is the better route. Federal custody needs separate checks. VINELink gives no general Bureau of Prisons or U.S. Marshals coverage. It is not the ICE Online Detainee Locator either. A person can leave a county jail. The next stop may be state, federal, or immigration custody. The local record may end without naming it. For a fresh Hancock arrest, use the Daily Arrest Report contact path. The receiving jail can confirm an intake VINE has not yet shown.
Hancock Arrest Status Is Not Guilt
A custody status tells you where a person may be held. It shows that a custody event occurred. That is all it shows.
Treat every Hancock notice as a status update. It tells you where a person stands in custody right then. Match each alert to the event it names, nothing more.
Keep Hancock Alerts Current
Save the details when a Hancock alert lands. Note the time, the method, the facility, and the exact wording of the event. Then log the moment the jail confirms the status. A machine message and a live check are not the same thing. If your phone or email changes, use Edit Your Registration so notices keep arriving. Check each local and DOC record separately. One registration rarely tracks a person across two custody systems.
